How it all started

John’s Story is Our Story

For as long as National has been around, John has been our leader. He has instilled an impeccable work ethic and demand for quality that has translated to our hiring processes, training, and the work itself. He is still here today, 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, steering the ship with the same vigilance and dedication. We decided to interview him about his story, a story he has shared with his family but felt shy to share with his clients and coworkers. After much convincing by his sons, we were able to pull some quotes and do our best to honor his story.

"Having employees is the thing I take very seriously. It is a huge responsibility and most of our guys have families to feed. They know that I demand a lot from them but the ones that stay are the ones I trust will deliver the same kind of work I did myself. When someone comes to us looking for a job, I rarely interview them. Instead, I put them with a technician I trust and tell them to come back in a week and let me know what they think. By the end of the week I speak to the technician who was with them as well. You know right away if they enjoy the work or not. What we do is not for everyone but for the ones that like to work with their hands and the guys with the right attitude, that is what we look for. You can train skills but its nearly impossible to train attitude."
